Your VacuLUX System Questions Answered
VacuLUX mouthpieces were designed with minimal crevices and an easy-access interior for simple, quick and effective pre-cleaning and sterilization. Sterilization is a three part process:
- Brush the interior & exterior with a soapy soft brush
- 15 minutes in the ultrasonic cleaner
- 30 minutes in the autoclave

Yes! The VacuLUX HVE adapter is constructed of durable aluminum, unlike others' plastic adapters, so it can withstand repeated autoclave cycles without breaking down over time. Additionally, it quickly detaches from your HVE valve or Feather Flex kit, allowing for convenient autoclaving between patients.
Alternatively, a rapid disinfection protocol involves flushing the adapter with a cleaning solution followed by a thorough wipe-down with disinfectant between patients. While this method offers faster turnaround, daily autoclave sterilization is still recommended.

To sterilize your Feather Flex Kit, run the Feather Flex vacuum line with a non-corrosive, pH-neutral enzymatic cleaning solution and perform a surface disinfection with a hospital grade disinfectant wipe between each patient.
